previous picture: Story
It was the 21st of February. A new, thin layer of snow had fallen to the ground the day before and thick fog was covering the sight over the meadows surrounding Elbdale. The sun hasn't been seen for days and even in the middle of the day it was quite dark. It seemed as if the winter did not want to leave the land this year, sending out his icy wind and the dark, heavy clouds that brought millions of snowflakes again and again.
A faint light appeared in the distance. It was an almost white, slightly blue shimmer that made the fog glow unreally, and it moved slowly. When the light came closer, it split into five smaller lights that danced across the snowy grass. Pink and turquoise sparks flickered around the light sources. The silhouette of a horse appeared above the lights, and next to it, the silhouette of a man. They walked towards the old bridge that led to Elbdale Stables. Another light source appeared behind the two figures. The light came from the legs and the nostrils of a foal. It was a warm light, and it flickered like fire when it licked upwards on the thin legs. There was even dark smoke rising from the "fire", but the flames didn't melt the snow where the tiny hooves touched the ground. The foal was still shaky on it's legs and made a fragile impression, but it's thick coat protected it perfectly against the cold of the late winter. It held pace with it's mother and the man when they crossed the bridge and walked through the archway of Elbdale stables.
Say hello to the first foal of ShapeShifter mare Catharsis!
Not much information so far. It has inherited some kind of magical feathering and breath, and it looks like daddy's fire markings, but it seems as if its "fire" isn't really hot
Is it a filly or a colt? Is it a shapeshifter like its mother? Is it a unicorn? Who knows...
PS: I'd love to get some name suggestions
